Seasonal Overview

Summer
- The summer seabreeze is foilable in many locations from early afternoon.
- Waves/swell can be found at BTB, LP and Warnbro.
- Early morning Easterly winds provide some great sessions at SBYC — the E can be deceptive and while it may feel like light wind, it is often blowing nicely at SBYC. Head 1km out and there is some really fun windswell out on the sandbar. The E wind tends to kick in around an hour after sunrise and in summer you can be on the water at 6am.
- A decent seabreeze also opens up some downwinder options.

Winter
- The winter frontal pattern brings a variety of foiling conditions.
- Larger weed at the W facing spots is often an issue in winter, especially after the first few fronts.
- These fronts can bring decent swell into the bay at BTB, LP and Carlisle Street, with waves between the islands at LP and BTB.
- Each front typically has NE + N winds preceding the front — the wind then backs through NW, W and finishes off with some SW.
- Rocko beachfront is foilable in decent N + NE winds, NW can be onshore , a strong W can bring some fun wind swell.
- At Rocko Beachfront in a WSW or W, work your way up to the cafe strip then ride the windswell back down towards the Grain Terminal.
